Childhood Flashbacks...Sand Pits
When Roc's family was young, they would often go to a place called the "sand pits". We decided to stop on Sat. I was apprehesive, this was my first encounter. But, before I knew it, Amber took off! Ever since we went, the kids (Roc included) can't stop talking about it! It seems like everyday, they ask to go back. Hah!!

This was the bottom, sorry my pics didn't do the steepness justice.
Babe- one of the many things I love about you is that you're still such a kid. I know we've been round and round about how to harness that for good. But, you've over come it. The finish product is a joy to watch. I'm so glad that in your maturing, you haven't lost what sets you apart. You make me so HAPPY! Love you...

Fireworks Fiasco!
Well, this years 4th of July didn't rear itself without "issues". However, we had such an awesome holiday! We went to my in-laws house as usual. We planned to have a burger bar, and we did. But, Pop had some tricks up his sleeve. He bought all of the adults steak and ribs. We of course had so much food that we couldn't see the counter top.
I went out and bought a load of new games. We played all of them, and the kids played theirs too! We were able to have lots of childhood friends over, so the games were competitive! Is that surprising coming from my neck of the woods?!
And of course the night went out with a BANG!! Pop said that this year was THE most eventful yet. Anyone who's a part of this family knows that's a big deal. We started about 8 fires while shooting fireworks! One fire continued for about 15 min. before we got it put out. It was a group effort of throwing sand and water buckets. The fire dept. was called, but fortunately we were able to cancel them before they got there. After that we were prepared with water buckets. We put out 4 fires after that one (all in neighbors yards). So, everyone decided to call it a night. We didn't even get to the grand finale. We decided to chalk it up for New Years Eve. I know it sounds dangerous, but we had a good time being firefighters...I can't wait for next year!

Wow! Have we been busy! We decided about 2 weeks ago to sell our home. We go it ready to go within a week (not hard to see the bags under my eyes). It has now been on the market for almost a week. So, won't be frequenting the blog world as much (that's for my sis in laws, btw). I've been cleaning constantly.

TREK
At this point, I don't think that I can express what trek meant to us. It's one of those things like when they ask you to give a talk in church and it benefits you more than the others. I KNOW the youth had an awesome experience, but we did too. It was nice to go back as an adult. I know it developed my testimony before, but I'm more spiritually mature now. We just felt the Spirit so strong over and over. Days after, we still couldn't talk about the experience without crying.
I told the youth, that the reason they were feeling the way they were was because of Charity. It is the pure love of Christ, and it can change YOU! When you are serving those you love, you can exprience this. And when we are going through trials, we are in the refiner's fire. They were allowing themselves to be molded in the Lord's hands. I only hope that they'll take it home and apply it.
I'm just so grateful that our Stk. Pres. has decided to keep up with this. The youth these days need a Trek more than ever. They need to be revolked from their electronic lives. The world is trying to make us so selfish now, it forces them to be the opposite. I really feel like it is the single best thing that they can participate in.

Except for one who's always doin' her own thang, am I right?! Well, I'm not going to let this happen to Lizard. We are comin' to see you girlfriend! So make room : ). Until then, I'll be missin' you.
