Fireworks Fiasco!

Well, this years 4th of July didn't rear itself without "issues". However, we had such an awesome holiday! We went to my in-laws house as usual. We planned to have a burger bar, and we did. But, Pop had some tricks up his sleeve. He bought all of the adults steak and ribs. We of course had so much food that we couldn't see the counter top.
I went out and bought a load of new games. We played all of them, and the kids played theirs too! We were able to have lots of childhood friends over, so the games were competitive! Is that surprising coming from my neck of the woods?!
And of course the night went out with a BANG!! Pop said that this year was THE most eventful yet. Anyone who's a part of this family knows that's a big deal. We started about 8 fires while shooting fireworks! One fire continued for about 15 min. before we got it put out. It was a group effort of throwing sand and water buckets. The fire dept. was called, but fortunately we were able to cancel them before they got there. After that we were prepared with water buckets. We put out 4 fires after that one (all in neighbors yards). So, everyone decided to call it a night. We didn't even get to the grand finale. We decided to chalk it up for New Years Eve. I know it sounds dangerous, but we had a good time being firefighters...I can't wait for next year!
